Informational text features are features that authors have put in non-fiction books to help readers understand the text. It is important that our students know the different types of features found in non-fiction text and their purpose. Listed below are some informational text features with their purpose listed beside them. It would be a GREAT idea to work on helping your child identify these features at home and talk about their purpose.
