"So please, oh please, we beg, we pray, go throw your TV set away, and in its place you can install, a lovely bookshelf on the wall." -Roald Dahl, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"
We finally had our book giveaway where all students got a free book! Students got to go book shopping and pick out a book of their choice from a wide selection based on their grade level. Teachers wore tacky sweaters and Christmas colors to support this event. The theme was modeled after the Tacky the penguin books!
The winner of our tacky sweater contest was Mrs. Whitney Trull!! She looked awesome and won a Bath and Body Works gift set!

GREAT news...We finally have our book tree up and sparkling outside of the Reading Reef. The kids are really enjoying the twinkling lights from the tree and of course the inspirational message that it sends. Reading is one of the most marvelous adventures that children can ever go on!!! Here are two students holding their favorite books sitting beside the tree.
Here is another student reading his favorite book with "Twinkle" the elf!
Our Meadowbrook Cubs were so excited about their reading packets they got to take home for Thanksgiving break! They were filled with books and literacy activities on their level.
