Today was Cowboy Day for spirit week at school!! Here are a couple of pics of some of the cutie pies as cowboys and cowgirls! :)
Ms. Mcdowell's owls are excited about reading to a friend in their new reading area! :) They are currently doing read to someone as part of their Daily 5 routine in first grade!
Just wanted to give title one staff a little something for all their hard work and the amazing job they do! :) At Meadowbrook we are working hard to increase positive parent involvement in our students education. This year we are having Lunch and Learns for specific grade levels where parents are invited to come in and learn about how to help their children with the curriculum for their grade level. We had a Lunch and Learn for K-2 parents a few weeks ago and it was a huge success. Each parent went home with a Literacy toolkit that they could use immediately to work on literacy skills with their child at home. We also talked about the different stages of readers, their characteristics, and what activities parents could do at home with their reader using their toolkit! Below is the cute fold-able parents received listing the different stages of readers. We also raffled off sight words to one kindergarten, first, and second grade parent! :)
Trying to get our kids excited about reading over fall break! :) Little packets we made for students! If they fill up their reading log after break they get a "smellie." (Scented Chapstick to rub on their hand!! They love them!) |
